Non-metal speciation analysis with LC-ICPMS/MS 8900
Interest in the inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICPMS) has been growing in recent years.
When used as a chromatographic detector, ICPMS enables element-selective detection that can be exploited for speciation analysis of biologically and environmentally relevant compounds tagged with key elements at trace concentrations. In 2012, the capability of ICPMS was enhanced through the introduction of tandem mass spectrometry (ICPMS/MS), extending its applicability to refractory elements such as the non-metals. This opens new wide areas of application but the ICPMS/MS technique is still relatively new and underexplored. Herein, we show novel applications where we take advantage of the ability of ICPMS/MS to effectively remove polyatomic interferences.
